ECOSOC Coordination Segment 2005

The theme of the 2005 coordination segment is: “Towards achieving internationally agreed development goals, including those contained in the Millennium Declaration” (Council decision 2004/92) . The coordination segment, which will be held from 5 to 7 July 2005 , will provide an opportunity to review the contribution of the United Nations system, at all levels, towards the agreed development goals .

At its coordination segment the Council will have before it a report of the Secretary-General on the themes of the high-level and coordination segments.1

1 In view of the close link between the themes for the high-level and the coordination segments of the Council, and in order to rationalize the documentation in preparation for the substantive session, it has been decided that the reporting and recommendations of the Secretary-General for both segments be consolidated in a single comprehensive document.
