Frednel Pierre, 1969 - 2010

Security Guard (Haiti)

Mr. Frednel Pierre

Frednel Pierre, a national of Haiti, worked for the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) as a mason since 2007. His most recent contract with MINUSTAH began in July 2009.

“He was a good worker,” a construction supervisor said. “I appreciated his work as he was a professional mason.”

Specializing as a bricklayer, Frednel was involved in construction projects that took place on the Jordanian, Filipino and Sri Lankan peacekeeping camps located in Haiti.

Frednel also did maintenance work at MINUSTAH Headquarters and at the UN Police offices at Villa Privée.

Frednel is survived by his sister Monique, his daughter Nayarlie, 3, and son Obama, 2. His wife Carline Fortilus also perished in the earthquake.
