At its 45th plenary meeting, on 28 July 2000, the Economic and Social Council, taking note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2000/51 of 25 April 2000, [1] approved the Commissions invitation to the Special Rapporteur on disability of the Commission for Social Development to address the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-eighth session, and its request to the Secretary-General to report biennially to the General Assembly on the progress of efforts to ensure the full recognition and enjoyment of the human rights of persons with disabilities.
