Canada

Add new para. 1(d):

(1)(d) Ensuring persons with disabilities the full and equal enjoyment of the right to access education, on a basis of gender equality.

 

China, Russian Federation

Para 1, Chapeau: Replace “ensure” with “promote”;

Para 2.d: Replace the first bracket phrase with changing the first half of the 2nd sentence by the following: 

“In order to meet adequately the special educational needs of persons with disabilities,…”

 

European Union

2 (d): “that persons with disabilities receive the support required, within the general education system, to facilitate their effective education. States Parties shall ensure that effective individualised support measures are provided in the environments which maximise academic and social development, consistent with the goal of full inclusion.”

 

Kenya

2(d), DEL: '[In order to meet adequately][In those circumstances where the general education system cannot adequately meet] the individual support needs of persons with disabilities,' DEL: 'in environments which' between the words 'provided' and 'maximise' delete: 'consistent with the goal of full inclusion' at the end of the paragraph.

3(c), DEL the word 'and' between deaf and deafblind; insert the words: “and others who are variously disadvantaged” after the words 'deafblind'.

4, delete the word 'fluent' and insert the word 'qualified'

(d) That persons with disabilities receive the support required, within the general education system, to facilitate their effective education.

(d) BIS States Parties shall ensure that effective individualized support measures are provided in environments that maximize academic and social development, consistent with the goal of full inclusion.

4. In order to help ensure the realization of this right, States Parties shall take appropriate measures to employ teachers, including those with disabilities, who are qualified in sign language and Braille, and to train professionals and staff who work at all levels of education. Such training shall incorporate disability awareness and the use of appropriate augmentative and alternative modes, means and formats of communication, educational techniques and materials to support persons with disabilities.
