Secretary-General Condemns ‘Despicable’ Terrorist Attack in Egypt

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist attack in Minya, Egypt, today.  There can be no justification for such horrific violence.

The Secretary-General expresses his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Egypt.  He wishes a quick recovery to those injured and hopes that the perpetrators of this despicable act will be swiftly identified and brought to justice.
