United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Martin Mogwanja, a Kenyan national, as Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Following consultations with the Executive Board of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Anthony Lake (United States) as the agency’s new Executive Director, and expressed his gratitude to Ann Veneman for her services to the Organization and her commitment in leading UNICEF for five years.
