Public Service Activity — NYC

Brownsville Community Culinary Center, Brooklyn, NYC, 18 July —

Volunteers from among UN staff and the diplomatic community  traveled to the Brownsville Community Culinary Center, Brooklyn.

The Center is committed to offering healthy, accessible cuisine to residents of one of the most marginalized neighbourhoods in New York City.

UN volunteers participated in the preparation of food to be served to community members in celebration of Nelson Mandela's ideals of service.

The activity was organized by the UN Department of Global Communications, the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly and the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the UN and NYC Mayor’s Office for International Affairs, in collaboration with the Melting Pot Foundation.
