During the week to 14 January, Iraq exported a
total of 14.2 million barrels of crude oil, in twelve
loadings, for an estimated revenue of $346 million
dollars. Since oil exports under phase VII began
there have been 54.3 million barrels exported worth
around $1.328 billion.
In phase VII, the Security Council's 661 Committee
has approved a total of 76 contracts for the sale of
Iraqi oil with a total volume of 220.8 million
barrels (128.1m Basrah Light, 92.7m Kirkuk).
The Office of the Iraq Programme has now received
1490 contracts for humanitarian supplies worth $3.07
billion under phase VI. Of the 1012 contracts
circulated to the Security Council's 661 Committee,
685 worth $1.34 billion have been approved. So far $1.57
billion worth of contracts for humanitarian supplies
have been approved under phase IV and $1.56 billion
under phase V.
At present there are 465 contracts worth $1.127
billion dollars for the purchase of humanitarian
supplies on hold: in phase IV, 22 contracts worth $36.6
million dollars are on hold; in phase V, 166
contracts worth $483.3 million and in phase VI, 277
contracts worth $607.2 million.
In Phases IV to VI, OIP has received 2003
contracts worth $1.11 billion for the supply of oil
industry spare parts and equipment. Of these
contracts, the 661 Committee has approved 907 worth $453.4
million and put 448 worth $224.6 million on hold.
In the past week, OIP circulated to the 661
Committee 99 contracts including for the supply of
medicines, and, in the agriculture sector, contracts
for soybean meal, poultry house fans and cooling,
helicopter spare parts, sprinklers, tractor and
combine spares. In the electricity sector, contracts
circulated included turbine systems and spares,
control and protection systems and forklifts and
contracts for for upgrading six telecommunications
exchanges.
