Summary

As African countries seek to finance their own development in the context of the post-2015 development agenda and on the backdrop of receding donors’ aid, it has become increasingly important for key government offices and stakeholders to be empowered with the skills and knowledge to enable the efficient, effective and innovative mobilization of domestic resources. And the obstruction of any leakages that hamper the collection of domestic resources and consequently the achievement of the SDGs. The ACBF considers that focusing on building capacity for domestic resource mobilisation (DRM) is a crucial component in empowering Africa to fully finance her own development. As part of its participation to the Financing for Development conference, ACBF is holding a side event under the theme “Building capacity for Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM) to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ”. This event will identify capacity imperatives for DRM and provide an opportunity for participants to share DRM strategies that are efficient, effective and innovative, based on country experiences.
