Transformative financing for gender equality and women’s empowerment

Summary:
Achieving the gender equality goals set out in national and international agreements requires financing. Mobilizing resources for gender equality and women’s empowerment entails enhancing the fiscal capacities of national governments, increasing overall external funding, identifying new sources of financing, and improving the use of existing resources. The side event will address the importance of mobilizing all available resources to support implementation of SDG-based national action plans on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
