UN Women's Handbook for legislation on violence against women has been made available online, along with an accompanying powerpoint presentation, and a video dialogue between P. Imrana Jalal and Cheryl Thomas (respectively the Chairperson and Rapporteur of the expert group meeting on good practices in legislation to address violence against women held in May 2008) highlighting key points from the model framework for legislation on violence against women.

The deadline for Member State responses to the comprehensive questionnaire seeking information for the coordinated violence against women database was 4 January 2009. Members States that have not yet submitted their replies are invited to do so at their earliest convenience to vawdatabase@un.org.
