Organization: Women for Water Partnership, Central and South Asia
Brief Description: Urmila wanted to help traveling communities. With Women for Water Partnership, she shared technologies to tap hill water and educated the people about not contaminating water sources through Open Defecation. The women were far easier to convince of the effectiveness of the plans.
Women for Water Partnership (WfWP) is a global alliance of women organizations and networks, active in the areas of water and sanitation, sustainable development and gender. WfWP focuses on water governance issues throughout all levels of water management.
WfWP consists of 25 women’s networks in approximately 100 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the EECCA region and Western Europe, reaching over one million women.
WfWP contributes directly and indirectly - through its member organisations - to a gender inclusive water management. Through the unique composition of our partnership, we are active at an international, national and local level simultaneously.
