Joppe Cramwinckel
World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)
"The water discussion has moved from the technical guys in the operational units to the boardroom. So that has changed. The issue has been recognized as a strategic issue for business and a strategic issue for the globe. That has significantly changed in the last 10 years.
Our organization [WBCSD] is one which responded to this change. I don’t think we would have been able to drive the change within the companies without a change in the external perspective in how important water is for society and for business. My hope for the future is that collectively we can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water, and recognize how important water is as a value driver for agriculture, for energy, and for all the other goals."
