"There’s been an important recognition that water is important in the food supply chain, and promoting that. 90% of the water that we need as a society as individuals is in this supply chain. The way that we consume water is detached. And we’ve realized farmers can increase productivity with better water management. Society’s recognized that we’ve got to get to grips with water stewardship. But as far as water stewardship goes, there’s still a way off from acknowledging all that will entail. We’ve got a global system and cheap food is of the highest priority. Society’s been deluded into thinking food just happens."
