The item entitled “Observer status for the International Trade Union Confederation in the General Assembly” was included in the agenda of the seventy-fourth session of the General Assembly at the request of France, Germany and Turkey (A/74/292). The Sixth Committee considered the item at its 37th meeting, on 8 November 2024 (see A/C.6/79/SR.37). Action taken by the Sixth Committee
At the 37th meeting, on 8 November 2024, the Chair of the Committee announced that the Bureau had been informed that the delegation of Germany, on behalf of the sponsors, had requested that the Committee defer a decision on the request for observer status for International Trade Union Confederation in the General Assembly until the eightieth session of the Assembly.
At the same meeting, the Committee adopted, without a vote, a draft decision under which the General Assembly would decide to defer a decision on the request for observer status for the International Trade Union Confederation in the General Assembly to the eightieth session of the Assembly.
