Deadline to submit National Reports is 30 June 2025

The United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat reminds Member States that 30 June 2025 is the deadline for submitting voluntary national reports under the current reporting cycle. These reports are essential for assessing progress towards the implementation of the UN Strategic Plan for Forests 2017–2030 and achievement of the Global Forest Goals (GFGs).

Endorsed by ECOSOC resolution 2024/15, the reporting process includes the use of a newly established online platform and a standardized format distributed alongside Explanatory Notes in January 2025. National reports will serve as a primary input to the next Global Forest Goals Report, which will inform future UNFF sessions and global forest policy discussions.

To support Member States, the UNFF Secretariat has held two key capacity-building activities:

• An in-person workshop in Nairobi (18–20 March 2025), jointly organized with FAO
• A virtual webinar on 3 June 2025, providing additional guidance and technical support

Member States are encouraged to finalize and submit their national reports in a timely manner to ensure broad participation in the global assessment of forest progress.
