International Day of Forests 2014

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message for the 2014 International Day of Forests

This global celebration of forests builds on the successes of the International Year of Forests in 2011, and provides a platform to raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests and of trees outside forests.

A special event on the occasion of the International Day of Forests will be held on Friday, 21 March 2014, from 10:00 to 13:00 in the Economic and Social Council Chamber (CB). The theme of the event is “Celebrating Forests for Sustainable Development”. [Webcast Video | Programme of IDF 2014 | Event Flyer]
