The conference convened around 200 experts, local government officials, media specialists, key water operators, political representatives of cities and stakeholder groups from four continents. International agencies represented will include UN-Water members and partners including UN-Habitat and its Global Water Operators' Partnership Alliance (GWOPA), the International Hydrological Programme of UNESCO (IHP), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), and the UN-Water Decade Programme on Advocacy and Communication. The general public of the host city will also be encouraged to participate through three open evening sessions.
