1540 Committee
Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004)

Ambassador José Javier De La Gasca (center), Chair of the 1540 Committee, made opening and closing remarks at the Training Course for National Points of Contact on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 (2004) in Africa, 5-7 November 2024, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The training course is co-hosted by the Republic of Mozambique and the 1540 Committee with the support of the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).

The Security Council unanimously adopts resolution 2663 (2022) extending the mandate of the 1540 Committee and its Group of Experts for a period of 10 years until 30 November 2032.
