An exploration of how sustainable timber, non-timber forest products, circular innovations, and biotechnology can drive a climate-smart, inclusive bioeconomy and unlock new opportunities for forest-based finance and partnerships.

Financing the nature and climate smart, forest based circular bioeconomy

This panel focuses on how valuing natural capital can unlock sustainable finance for forest-based bioeconomies. Drawing on experiences from leading financial institutions and companies, the session examines how Natural Capital Accounting and innovative mechanisms can support investment in forest-based solutions that deliver social, economic and environmental benefits.

Key message: Recognising the value of natural capital enables finance to flow toward sustainable forest-based industries that deliver measurable climate and nature outcomes

Leaders from governments, international organisations and the private sector share experiences in shaping inclusive and resilient forest-based bioeconomies. Through dialogue and case studies, the session highlights how sustainable forest management, innovation and cross-sector partnerships can accelerate the transition to a circular, climate-smart economy.

Key message: Inclusive collaboration and innovation are essential to scale forest-based bioeconomies that support climate action, biodiversity, and community well-being.
